What Good Comes out of this Nog•Fest thing?

This Band Does Good Things!

Plugged in and the Scrap Metal Horns
Unplugged and the Scrap Metal Horns Is a wonderfully entertaining band with a full brass section that plays cover tunes that you cannot help but get up and dance to! They are worth LOTS of money, but they are all just doing it for fun! They like to play their music to raise money for worthy causes at their gigs! They are all giving up a Saturday night in December to play for us! (and probably missing some other party, or some big sale at the mall, or making fruitcake with their brother or something).

We will have a container out for FREE WILL DONATIONS to a local cause that we Chose that you will read about shortly! So as they play their little hearts out, toss money in the bucket as you feel necessary! Who knows, maybe they will just keep on playing all night long!

The Cause!

The cause we chose is called Project SOAR: Student Opportunities, Access and Readiness
Project SOAR addresses the achievement gap and the chronic absenteeism rate of African American youth in middle and high schools. The target population of this project is African American male students, ages 12 -17, enrolled in either a middle school or high school of the Madison Public School District. The Madison Project SOAR will incorporate and serve students who are economically disadvantaged, from single parent homes, homeless, involved in foster care, involved in the juvenile justice system and other African American students that can benefit from the project offerings.
This Video tells more about it.
